Glossathon
The LangueFlow team invites you to participate in the multilingual Glossathon, a collaborative online workshop.
There is a lot of variation in the use of literary multilingualism terminology. Terms like multilingualism, plurilingualism and translingualism describe similar but nuanced phenomena. They do not translate neatly across languages, however: German Mehrsprachigkeit, French plurilinguisme, Polish wielojęzyczność and Turkish çokdillilik each carry distinct meanings.
At the Glossathon, we will work together in groups to clarify and create clear definitions of key concepts in multilingual literary studies. Your expertise in multilingual literary studies and familiarity with relevant literature is valuable for this work.
Join us in the preparation of a free, multilingual online glossary to address the “terminological flow” (Anokhina & Sciarrino 2018: 13), which at present challenges both researchers and students.
The first Glossathon will take place on Monday 16 February 2026 at
- 12:00-15:00 CET (Berlin, Rome, Stockholm)
- 6:00-9:00 am EST (New York)
- 19:00-22:00 SGT (Singapore)
