Offstage: COST Action MultiLiLiTrans
Presentation of COST Action Literary multilingualism and social transformations in superdiverse societies (MultiLiLiTrans)
This COST Action aims at creating an innovative and robust network between academia (literary studies, comparative studies, translation studies, film and theatre studies) and practitioners in education and artistic communities, with the core aim of mainstreaming multilingualism in all its diverse aspects in European contexts and beyond.
Many structures of European societies (education, literary, theatre and film scenes, etc.) follow a monolingual paradigm which is not reflecting their multilingualism and superdiversity. Through the academic lens of literary multilingualism and broadening its application to characterise societies and understand societal challenges, MultiLiLiTrans aims at filling this gap.
The proposers of the MultiLiLiTrans project, Barbara Siller (University College Cork), Hannes Schweiger (Universität Wien) and Sandra Vlasta (Università di Genova) will present the project and the (multilingual) challenges encountered by the team.
Join us on Wednesday 10 December 2025 at 10:00 CET (Berlin, Rome, Stockholm).
